Trumpeter Zach Warren, passed away on February, 25 2009.
The Otsego Jazz Ensemble, in partnership with the Otsego Elks Lodge,
is sponsoring a music scholarship in memory of trumpeter Zach Warren,
who passed away early in 2009.
This scholarship is intended to reward and encourage
a high school musician from Otsego or the surrounding area
by paying for either Summer music camp or for music lessons.
As a teenager, Zach played in big bands in Chicago.
While in the Army in Italy, he played in a military band.
He had been the high school band director in Otsego, and
became the principal of the Allegan St. elementary school.
Please contact us if you would like to donate to
the Zach Warren Memorial Music Scholarship, or send a
check to:
Otsego Elks Lodge
113 1/2 S. Farmer St.
Otsego, MI 49078-1119
(please memo "Zach Warren Music Scholarship")
On April 18, 2010, the OJE presented a "Zach Warren Memorial Concert"
at the Otsego United Methodist Church.
